My preferred way of engaging with psychotherapy is looking at the person as a whole - life situations, body symptoms, and dreams.
Though, I don't have a formal training in dream, I have taken workshops and studies of Carl Jung's books. My favorite of Jungian Analyst is Marion Woodman. I suppose my leaning towards literature, poetry and prose makes Marion Woodman's outlook closer to mine. I get excited when she is able to find the tender threads that connect life, myths and literature. This is the perfect marriage!
Another author and Analyst I love reading is Robert Johnson. His explorations of myths with a personal experiences makes him relatable as someone who invites us to 'stay with the questions'.
Explorations of myths in a Jungian way, also gives a framework to engage with my own spiritual explorations and reading spiritual texts.
This forms a foundation of my engaging with your presenting issue - may it be anxiety, depression, relationship issues, developmental trauma, specific body trauma, accidents, sexual trauma, grief, etc.
What to expect?
Jungian and depth psychology form the foundation to explore what is trying emerge in the unconscious. The body is a doorway to ground those experiences in the here and now. Hence, somatic work forms the thread to uncover what In a session, I use any of these access points to look whats trying to emerge for you.
